2016 was a bit of a disaster for me; between mental health issues & recurring physical injuries I didn’t have much of a chance…
The latter part of 2016 saw some improvements in my fitness, which allowed me to run every day in October and then do the same in December. My weight is still an issue, but something I am working on as I have joined Slimming World!
I am trying to learn from my mistakes in 2016 and approaching 2017 one challenge at a time. My mental health is still not where I would like it to be, but this is a work in progress and things are improving. I have a few running events planned in the run up to May; but I will tackle these as stepping stones to a 40 mile ultra marathon I will be attempting in Cornwall. The event is called ‘The Quest‘ and I am very excited about this one!
I am still hoping that I am on track to run the Pennine Way in 2018 as planned. However given my training deficit in 2016, I will make a firmer decision about whether I have to delay things later in the year.
