With just 115 days (at the time of writing) until I attempt to run the 40 mile trail ultra ‘The Quest‘ in Cornwall…….my fairly intense training schedule starts tomorrow! Knowing how 2016 went, I start this with some trepidation, though I am looking forward to immersing myself into it too. I will adjust my plans if needs be, if I feel I am pushing myself too much I will allow myself to recuperate. If I have learned one thing during the last two years it is to listen to my body!
I have other big events lined up later in the year, but I am taking them one at a time. The last thing I want to do is set myself up for a fall!
My mental health is actually pretty good at present, the medication I am currently on seems to have me fairly stable. In addition to the running I am also focused on losing weight. After the setback of more weight gain over Christmas and new year, I know what I have to do to start losing those pounds again!
This years events are all in training for my attempt to run all 267 miles of the Pennine Way in 2018 to raise funds and awareness for Bipolar UK and The RSPB’s Hen Harrier LIFE project. You can find out more about this and support my efforts here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/runningthepennineway
